SR. DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Our SpaceX team is looking for an experienced and driven engineer for Starlink's customer facing e-commerce system. The candidate will draw upon their technical background and project leadership skills to drive complex and challenging software projects end to end, with the goal of improving the testing, reliability, observability, and operations of our system to provide an amazing customer experience to users of our product worldwide. The tools you build will allow Starlink to expand its user base, improve its user experience, and serve unconnected populations across the globe.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project definition, planning, scheduling, resource allocation, triage, release management, metrics gathering, and communication to wider audiences.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams and leaders across the program– customer support, growth, finance, enterprise sales and account management, and software development.
- Focus on reliable software development including the testing tools and processes necessary to ensure that we can rapidly deliver high quality software deliverables.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other STEM discipline.
- 5+ years of professional experience in project management, program management, mission management, or logistics.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to work alongside software, date and networks engineers to provide technical leadership and direction.
- Demonstrated ability to own projects from start to completion.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Domain-specific experience a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work with SQL and modern monitoring tools like Sentry or DataDog.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Starlink Development Engineer/Senior: $135,000.00 - $185,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.
