The Position
We’re on the hunt for a Configuration and Data Management Technologist for our Safety and Mission Assurance team at our Brampton office.
With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.
As a Configuration and Data Management (CADM) Technologist, you will maintain configuration control over design documentation records.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper identification of engineering drawings, items, documents, and Engineering Change Notices, and that engineering metadata is entered and linked correctly.
- Upload Bill of Materials.
- Co-ordinate approvals of the above documentation in PLM.
- Release drawings, items, CCDs, ECNs, business processes and software in accordance with CADM processes.
- Store and control design information from external sources, and submit deliverables through customer-defined portals as required by program.
- Input design configuration information for Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRR) and other design reviews.
- Track and follow up on open configuration issues.
- Control and update internal Word or Excel-based templates.
- Maintain processes and work instructions for effective configuration and data management.
- Find process improvements for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.
Requirements
Interested candidates must possess a degree or diploma, plus related work experience that demonstrates an interest in working in a highly-regulated field.
Candidates must have the ability to process large amounts of verbal and written information, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities to meet deadlines. A strong knowledge of MS office products is required. Superb people skills are required, to interface with many different internal disciplines as well as large external customers. Previous configuration management experience in the aerospace or other highly-regulated industry is considered an asset. The candidate must be detail-oriented, meticulous, and able to follow step-by-step procedures.
