Summary
This position is for the Deputy Division Chief of the Propulsion and Power division responsible for the workforce ad facilities of the propulsion, power, and Pyrotechnic Domains located at NASA Johnson Space Center and is included within a specialty that advises on, coordinates, supervises and/or performs technical managerial functions involving multiple leadership aptitudes. You will report directly to the Division Chief of the Propulsion and Power Division.

In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the federal sector: Providing technical expertise with human spacecraft electrical power generation and energy storage systems, power distribution systems, propulsion systems and rocket engine technology, propellants, pyrotechnic components and devices, and cryogenic fluid storage and distribution systems; Providing expertise in spacecraft hardware design, development and qualification procedures, engineering test methodology, system design and redundancy management concepts, safety requirements, quality engineering requirements, hardware and system fabrication techniques, or flight support activities as applicable to the energy systems of human spacecraft; Leading all elements of program management and control methodology including change, cost, risk, and schedule control; and Providing expertise in resource management and control, and facility management.
