Our long-term client relationship with KBR has led to a need for a Space Station Computer Software Developer on the Integrated Mission Operations Contract II (IMOC II) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

The Space Station Computer Software Developer Will
- Join the staff of the International Space Station Computer Laptop & Network Integration group, as a member of the Space Operations Computing (SpOC)/Station Support Computer (SSC) software team.
- Develop and maintain software critical for supporting astronaut's daily activities aboard the International Space Station (ISS) under minimal supervision.
- Develop and test robust software within Linux and Microsoft environments.
- Perform troubleshooting and navigation through Windows and Linux environments.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
- BS Degree in Computer Science or other technically related area from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of and practical experience developing and testing robust software within both Linux and Microsoft Windows environments.
- Perform troubleshooting and navigation through both the Windows and Linux environments.
- Knowledge of common networking practices is required.
- Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision.
- Must be a self-starter who excels in a dynamic environment that requires him/her to work effectively both alone or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, teamwork, technical, and administrative skills are mandatory.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to plan, lead, and coordinate a wide range of tasks.
- Must be able to travel.
Preferences
- Programming knowledge/ experience in any of the following is highly desired:
- C/C++
- PHP
- Bash
- Knowledge of one or more of the following is a plus: Microsoft Deployment Tool; Active Directory implementations; Virtual Machines; DNS/DHCP; iOS/Swift; Build Automation tools (e.g. Jenkins); Ansible; and Puppet.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
- This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
