We are looking for a Process Improvement Analyst III to lead Continuous Improvement projects for our Transportation program. This person will also have the opportunity to make a substantial impact on programs that are at the forefront of advancements in space destinations and applications. You’ll play a critical role in optimizing the business processes behind the development of Dream Chaser Spaceplanes and beyond. You’ll leverage strong interpersonal skills and competency in process effectiveness to develop new processes that cross multiple programs and departments horizontally as well as vertically. You’ll also get to flex your analytical muscles through metrics and data analysis, and by dissecting existing processes, identifying gaps, bottlenecks and waste to drive impactful improvements across the organization. Lastly, we are looking for someone who is excited to share their expertise through the training and mentorship of team members who are hungry to engage in CI initiatives to propel Sierra Space above and beyond.
Sierra Space—based in Louisville, CO with operations in Madison, WI, Durham, NC, Huntsville, AL, Houston, TX, and Kennedy Space Center, FL—designs and manufactures the Dream Chaser spaceplane and other advanced spacecraft, commercial space destinations, satellites, propulsion and environmental systems, spacecraft subsystems and components for the U.S. government (including NASA), commercial customers, and international organizations. Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead projects of all sizes to develop new processes and improve upon existing processes
- Proactively identify and prioritize opportunities to maximize efficiency and effectiveness leveraging lean concepts
- Lead CI efforts on the production floor
- Perform metrics and data analysis
- Assist in the facilitation of Continuous Improvement training
- Mentor Sierra Space team members through application of CI concepts, tools and projects
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study and typically 6 or more years of work experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field of study and 106 or more years of work experience
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to form strong, cross-functional relationships at all levels of the organization
- Effective project management skills and experience
- Solid problem-solving skills
- Root cause analysis and corrective action experience
- Proficiency in the MS Suite, specifically with Excel, Visio, and Sharepoint
- Familiarity with Jira
- Proven success in driving action through metrics and KPIs
- Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, team building, and leadership skills

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $91,154.71 - $125,337.72
