Role
We are seeking for
Integration, Verification and Validation Engineers for our Satellite Space & Ground Segments Systems Integration, Verification and Validation team. As part of this dynamic and multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in creating and delivering engineering solutions to verify and validate payloads & satellites performance, Telecommand and Telemetry, data processing imagery, create value-added products and process orders from our customers in a cost-effective way.
Role can also includes proposal and program efforts, front-end design, detailed analyses and development, digital channelize and on-board processing design Test Requirements/Plans, evaluation of Payload throughput and link budgets for multi-beam systems, integration and testing of the product.
Responsibilities
As an Integration, Verification and Validation Engineer – Satellite Space & Ground Segments, you will have a wide range of responsibilities that may include:
- defining and developing scenarios and Use Cases to test subsystem-to-subsystem interfaces and end-to-end (i.e. multi-subsystem) flows;
- deploying and configuring hardware and software subsystems in support of factory and on-site integration, verification and validation (IV&V) activities;
- creating test data, scripts, tools and procedures to support IV&V activities, including manual and automated test procedures for formal requirement verification;
- reporting and documenting software and system issues encountered during IV&V activities;
- recommending overall system improvements (robustness, congestion, usability, performance);
- conducting formal factory and on-site verification activities using formal test procedures;
- interacting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders (customer, QA, System Design engineers and managers);
- Analyzing system and subsystem-level verification events
- working with MDA’s software development teams to integrate and test operational features; and
- traveling to other MDA and customer sites to participate in IV&V activities, as required by the project.
- Support design reviews
You will provide direction and guidance to other engineers in the above tasks and have opportunities for career growth.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology or other relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Have familiarity with:
- Python, Linux, or a similar scripting language;
- Matlab;
- Familiarity with modern software development methodology, tools, and software specification;
- Experience in digital equipment, Modems, signal processing and Networking (i.e. DTN, MPLS, routing protocols & Class of Service, DVB-RC/SX);
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills; English required, French fluency would be an asset;
- User of Lab instruments: PNA, VSA, PSA, Oscilloscope….
- Possess excellent problem solving skills;
- Be a self-starter with the ability to perform in a dynamic working environment and willingness to learn;
- Knowledge of the Architectures and operation of SDR (Software Defined Radio);
- Prior involvement in developing test or simulation scripts/tools, integrating multiple systems and/or verifying system requirements;
- Understanding of different types of engineering life cycles as applicable from large complex programs to software development;
- Familiarity with orbital mechanics, satellite communications, remote sensing or earth observation, spacecraft design and operational considerations;
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident is preferred;

Comments/Special Considerations
