Maxar is currently seeking a motivated and skilled Electrical Test Engineer to join our team in Palo Alto, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for validating spacecraft system functionality and verify both performance and compliance through testing and analysis. Electrical test engineers are involved with all phases of the manufacturing product lifecycles that involve multiple parts of the spacecraft, including requirements and test definition, assembly, integration, test verification and validation operations. The initial focus of this role will be on electrical systems integration and testing.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and evaluate electrical circuits and interfaces using engineering knowledge.
Ability to lead an electrical test team 24x7 to support spacecraft schedules, when needed.
Perform long term planning (future test phases), and new program development.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
Write, review, and/or consult on electrical test procedures and resolve documentation discrepancies.
Use electrical testing equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies etc.).
Document all non-conformances and test anomalies, following Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) policies.
Execute and troubleshoot test scripts executed on the spacecraft.
Ensure testing is in compliance with the test requirements document (TRD).
Lead complex electrical spacecraft level troubleshooting efforts with support of systems engineering.
Occasional international or domestic travel required for up to 60 days to support launch campaign activities.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Four years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
At least 1 year of Aerospace industry experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5 years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with satellite design and testing obtained through educational training and/or on-the-job experience in a related field.
Familiarity with satellite command and telemetry databases and wire-lists.
Program management experience.
Highly skilled with Microsoft Office.
Strong collaboration, written and communication skills.
