The Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform team (EMIP) support US Space Force (USSF) efforts in acquiring and developing Enterprise Ground Services (EGS) platforms, infrastructure capabilities, cyber security capabilities for several organizations in a cross-cutting effort. EMIP supports trade studies, technology demonstrations and related laboratory tasks for enterprise solutions used in current and future USSF satellite ground systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- The position will be supporting the Enterprise Mission Infrastructure and Platform team with direct support to the BMC3 portfolio to include EGS, KM, SDA and others
- You will be working with other Project Leaders in the organization on projects related to Aerospace prototypes and BMC3 efforts involving hybrid cloud technologies.
- The EMIP group performs analysis, testing demonstrations of leading platform, cloud, cyber security technologies and works with vendors on demonstrations on behalf of the customer
- This job is critical to the service development and deployment to provide operational capabilities of the missions under Ground Mission and warfighter capabilities being used in modern satellite operation centers
- This role will be to participate heavily in technology investigation initiatives, work with vendors, the government, various support contractors to prototype, demonstrate and deliver cyber secure platform capabilities to the warfighters at several space force bases and undisclosed mission sites
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
- You'll be challenged to use all of the Aerospace LCMs of Strategic, Innovation, Velocity, People, Accountability. Working with some of the top tier industry providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud, Red Hat, VMware, Palo Alto and Juniper systems. This position will involve a desire to learn new skills, evaluate emerging technologies and deliver capability demonstrations
Work Model: Some telecommuting is possible depending on the needs of the customers.
Minimum Requirements
What You Need to be Successful - Project Engineer
- Eight years of relevant experience including two years of experience in architecture for software-intensive systems, preferably in the space system domain
- Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Software or related fields
- Ability to interact and form effective relationships and teams with government customers, other FFRDCs, contractors, and Aerospace personnel
- Hands on experience in cloud-based platforms and networking
- Ability to satisfy occasional travel needs
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TC/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
What You Need to be Successful - Senior Project Engineer
Minimum Requirements
- Twelve years of relevant experience including four years of experience in architecture for software-intensive systems, preferably in the space system domain
- Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Software or related fields
- Ability to interact and form effective relationships and teams with government customers, other FFRDCs, contractors, and Aerospace personnel
- Ability to lead teams of engineers on projects with achievements and work.
- Hands on experience in cloud-based platforms, and networking
- Ability to satisfy occasional travel needs
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Certification or ability to certify in those listed in DoD 8570 under IAM II
- Willingness to learn the installation and of enterprise software solutions such Terraform, Ansible, JSON, Native Cloud Architectures. Networking with Cisco, Juniper or VMware is desirable.
- Virtualization technologies, Kubernetes, Docker or other container experience.
- Understanding of government organizations is a plus.
- Experience in successfully working with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly dynamic environment is strongly desired.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
