Summary
You will serve as the Propulsion & Power Division Chief Engineer (DCE), responsible for providing technical leadership, integration, and design process oversight across all division projects, products, and services.

In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the federal sector: Serving as a consultant and expert advisor in defining design, integration and operational requirements for flight systems in more than one of the following areas: propulsion, power, pyrotechnics, In Situ Resource Utilization, and/or hazardous test facilities; Developing and integrating flight vehicle systems and elements, including analyzing and resolution of issues on various aspects of development and operation, e.g., system performance, configuration, component definition, operational capabilities, reliability, safety; Ensuring technical rigor of safe and reliable test facility operations; Determining operational performance and providing recommendations on required modifications and enhancements to increase capability, efficiency and/or lifetime of flight vehicles.
