What You'll Do
This position will directly interface with the customer and must be well versed in customer relationship and service. Applicant must have no less than 5 years aircraft experience specifically working with the FAA and MRO facilities for new STC's and installation of the production STC. Must have a background in installation design, LRU and component design, vendor management, customer engineering, FAA certification and on site installation onboard 135 and 121 commercial aircraft. Must have excellent working knowledge of the FAR's as related to engineering and installation activities.
The day-to-day
Typical duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Provide remote/on-call support for all reported installation data, installation hardware, and certification issues by Airline Customer. Point of contact for Airline Customer during active issue resolution.
- Provide/coordinate onsite engineering support on prototype and production installations as required
- Coordinate engineering resolution and regulatory approval between internal and external support teams
- Support financial management and reporting efforts for sustaining engineering group
- Assist other engineering groups and project management teams on design and certification efforts prior to the prototype installation of each fleet/sub-fleet type
- Support general certification maintenance efforts
- Provide project engineering support as required
What You'll Need
- 5+ years FAA certification/STC integration experience
- Experience with commercial aviation, specifically airline aircraft and operations
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external parties
- Knowledge of CAD software, installation drawings, and aircraft structures
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aviation or equivalent experience
- 25% travel to support customer meetings and installation support
What Will Help You On The Job
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, 14CFR Parts 21, 25, 121, 135 and 145.
- Experience with FAA/EASA STC projects
- Experience with FAA ACO, ODA, DER, DAR
Salary range
$109,000.00 - $179,750.00 / annually
