Summary:
The successful Test Engineer (Mechanisms) will be responsible for the prototyping, qualification and acceptance testing of various space-flight mechanisms for the deployment of a satellite constellation. The Test Engineer will be a key contributor in non-recurring and recurring/sustaining efforts and activities for the mechanisms and related elements as well as delivery of the system to spacecraft integration & testing.
The successful candidate will be innovative, creative, and challenge the status quo. Test Engineer will work well in teams while also having the ability to work assignments autonomously.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in design of mechanical testing hardware
- Support space mechanism design
- Develop testing processes of mechanisms
- Conduct prototyping and testing of satellite mechanisms
- Work alongside Testing and Space Mechanisms teams on various projects applying knowledge in mechanical components
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers
- Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in Manufacturing processes and/or engineering
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Knowledge of Matlab and/or Labview
- Knowledge of CAD tools
