This position is responsible for successfully building plans for multiple scenarios across multiple assets. This position coordinates with vehicle maintenance, supply chain, engineering, GSE, facilities, flight operations, and other stakeholders as required to properly build plans that lead to efficient flight operations and scheduled / unscheduled maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner is expected to apply professional technical expertise and guidance to help resolve complex problems.
- Plans, schedules and coordinates a broad spectrum of maintenance work packages for scheduled items, modifications and non-routine/deferred items on the VG space flight system assets and vehicles.
- Loads, maintains and tracks maintenance requirements per OEM inspection programs, ADs/SBs/SILs and existing maintenance programs.
- Identifies activities where third-party vendors may be required and coordinates with VG Supply Chain to properly source, schedule and plan these activities.
- Defines, reviews & updates the scope and task relationships of maintenance work packages. Identifies critical path activities to stakeholders for awareness.
- Reviews panned packages and determines labor and skillsets required. Maps these requirements to availability for maintenance work packages. Identifies conflicts as required.
- Maintains vehicle flight schedules in MRO Software.
- Works with Spaceline Maintenance Controllers as required to ensure efficient execution of work packages.
- Assists in defining and developing the maintenance planning program processes.
- Assists the development and implementation of the Spaceline Tech Ops business processes, KPI’s and workflows.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Experience
- Must have High School diploma or GED
- Must have 3 years’ experience planning complex maintenance activities on aerospace vehicles in an operational environment
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must have working knowledge of computers and general software: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
- Must have general knowledge of MRO software
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and work any shift, including weekends and be on call
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field preferred
- Project Management training/accreditation preferred
- Experience with MRO software implementation preferred
- Experience with Ultramain MRO Software highly desired
- FAA A&P license highly desired
- 3 years of Aerospace Line Maintenance experience highly desired.
Physical And/or Additional Requirements
- Must be highly organized and able to handle stressful situations
- Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods – 8 hours min.
The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $67,500.00–$97,950.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
