Gilat has defined the Defense Segment as a strategic growth engine, considering the significant market potential as a key to growing the business. Accordingly, the Defense team in Gilat is growing and looking for a seasoned Sales Director to maintain and expand Gilat’s prestigious position in the Israeli Market as the leading SATCOM provider for the Israeli Defense Forces and Israeli Defense Industry.
What You Will Do
- Overall responsibility over sales to the Israeli market (including IDF and Israeli Defense Industry) – meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets
- Lead and manage the sales process within the company - orchestrating the various functions for solution definition, costing and pricing, bid preparation, commercial discussions, etc.
- Own the relationship with the customer across all activities and customer facing engagements (along side internal stakeholders) from Bid phase, through contractual phase, execution, delivery, validation, deployment and post-sale
- Creatively cultivate new opportunities with existing customer to grow the business
- Plan and Hunt for new customers
- Provide strategic feedback from customers within the territory to assure organizational and product strategy alignment with market requirements (i.e. – initiate new products, new business models, improved services, etc.)
- Key member and contributor within the Defense Sales Group
Requirements
- 5-8 years’ experience in a customer facing business position – Sales management, Program Management, Business Development, Commercial Manager, Marketing in the Defense Industry
- Strong preference for experience working with IDF, Israeli Ministry of Defense and Israeli Defense Industries (Elbit, IAI, Rafael, etc.)
- Familiarity or professional experience in the Communication/Tactical-Communication /C4I domains – a major advantage (naturally – SATCOM experience is optimal)
- Capable of grasping and presenting complex business and technical concepts, including preparation of documents (proposals, reports, customer presentations, etc.)
- Successful track record and experience leading large, complex, competitive proposals
- “Closer” mentality – willing to walk the corridors, build relationships and close deals
- Existing relationships with key decision makers, influencers and stakeholders among IDF, Israeli Ministry of Defense and Israeli Defense Industries and within the SATCOM industry
- Strong ability to effectively lead and motivate teams in a corporate-matrix environment
- Organized and independent with a “get things done” approach
- Eligible for Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree is expected, relevant degree / MBA is a plus
- Relevant military service is a plus
