Primary Responsibilities
- Proactively manage and own overall technical activities (requirements, design, analysis, and integration support) needed to successfully navigate various complex design and production phases of space flight hardware
- Work with customers, vendors, and teammates (both internal and external) to transform product requirements into fully validated space flight hardware
- Provide oversite and guidance for more junior engineering staff as well as those supporting other related functional groups like specialty engineering (structural, thermal, radiation, etc.), quality control, manufacturing, and procurement.
Must-haves:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- Relevant work experience may substitute for required education
- Understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
- Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Preferred:
- Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5
- Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
- Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes
- General understanding of composite structures, basic electrical circuits and solar array technology

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,552.10 - $165,759.14
