As People Operations Manager, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our HR policies, playbook, and infrastructure. You’ll help scale our organization as we grow our manufacturing facility, and own day-to-day people processes as you steward our most important resource: our people. We’re looking for a decisive problem solver with a “get it done” attitude. You’ll champion our culture with enthusiasm, and guide our People strategy to make Skyloom an exciting and attractive place to work.
Duties:
- Reports to the Chief Operations Officer, and collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization
- Partners with Hiring Managers to lead recruiting efforts and strategy, applying DEIB principles to ensure our growth is healthy and sustainable
- Leader of culture efforts such as offsites, teambuilding, and holiday events
- Own, execute, and improve employee lifecycle events that guide the team from acculturation through internal mobility all the way to exit interviews
- Manage benefits for all employees, including administration of yearly open enrollment and ongoing education efforts
- Manage payroll, and all associated bonuses and stipends on schedule
- Work with Ops management to keep us in line with our Pay Philosophy as we define pay ranges for all new roles
- Partner with our Counsel to keep Skyloom compliant with federal and state employment laws
- Utilize employment analytics internal and external to track trends and make recommendations to the business
- Serve as the key point of contact for employee relations, and become an internal spokesperson in providing ongoing support
- Support the development of employee incentives and perks that help elevate our employment offerings and make Skyloom an industry competitive place to work
- Manage and support the Office Manager
Required skills:
- 6 years experience in an HR/People Ops role at a fast-paced start-up, preferably in an international environment
- Fluent in Microsoft Office 365
- High degree of confidentiality and boundaries in workplace chatter
- Excellent communication skills that can morph to any audience
- Demonstrated project management skills and ability to drive programs and execute on projects independently and resourcefully
- Understanding of federal and CO state employment laws
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
- HRIS experience (Sequoia One preferred)
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred but not required
- Spanish language fluency
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with HR needs around government contracts a plus
