As a
Test Systems Engineer, the candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to design test tools and processes, execute assembly and test procedures for modules and spacecraft, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes.
Key Duties/Responsibilities
- Design and develop the process and test setups to bring conceptual designs to full production
- Design and write automated testing programs at both the module and space vehicle level
- Work with design engineers to debug, test, and implement changes to hardware
- Write, review, and execute qualification and acceptance test plans
- Develop and refine module and space vehicle testing procedures based on lessons learned
- Software Regression testing on modules and complete systems
- Run environmental testing with thermal chambers, vibration tables, and thermal vacuum chambers
- Working in a cleanroom on flight hardware for extended periods
- Occasional travel off-site for testing and integration at customer facilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline
- Experience (internship time and extra-curricular school projects are counted) as a test engineer supporting highly integrated cross-disciplinary assemblies
Additional Differentiators
- Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
- Experience with build integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems; including, but not limited to: vibration, shock, thermal, vacuum, and radiation testing
- Documentation and configuration management experience
- Experience writing test plans and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment
- Experience in a production environment within the aerospace industry
- Experience working in a laboratory setting, particularly a cleanroom with ESD precautions
- Experience with electrical debugging of PCB Assemblies, including the ability to read electrical schematics.
- Programming in Python, LabVIEW, TestStand, bash/shell script, or C.
- LabVIEW CLD or CLA Certification
- TestStand CTD or CTA Certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of organization and accountability

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is largely a sedentary role with heavy computer usage. The position may require the incumbent to move files, walk around the office, and bend/stand as necessary.
