Relativity is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. Disrupting 60 years of aerospace, Relativity offers a radically simplified supply chain, building a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. Our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity’s industrial base on Earth and on Mars.
Team
Relativity Space is the first and only company to automate aerospace manufacturing by integrating intelligent robotics, software, material science, and proprietary metal 3D printing technology. What we do disrupts over 60 years of aerospace industry standards, by radically simplifying the supply chain – allowing us to build a rocket with 100x fewer parts in less than 60 days. These improvements are necessary as our long-term goal is to upgrade humanity’s industrial capabilities on Earth as well as on Mars.
To help accomplish this, we need to build the platform on which the factory of the future will run – our Factory Operating System (OS). This Factory OS is a logical concept, combining software, data, machine learning, physical hardware, and materials science to provide an end-to-end pipeline for building complex finished products. Today we are starting with rockets, but we simultaneously will be envisioning how this stack can be used to build many different types of products and components. We have made significant progress, but now we are doubling down our efforts and are looking for the best product and engineering leaders on the planet to join our mission.
We are hiring a
Senior Technical Program Manager to help coordinate and drive the software product and engineering roadmap for the Factory OS. The problems we will tackle will be complex and ambiguous, therefore a high visibility leader is needed to own the coordination and execution across multiple workstreams. Successful candidates in this role will be asked to analyze drive recommendations for trade-off decisions that balance the needs of the technical teams as well as the business overall. Where there are multiple paths to choose, this individual will align the team on a common pursuit. Where there are points of impasse, this individual will build a bridge. High judgment, strong leadership, and strategic influence are foundational elements for this role.
Do you have what it takes to make the impossible possible? Then come join our mission of building humanity in space!
What You’ll Do
- Timeline/Schedule: Analyze requirements, resources, and dependencies, to create and distribute to the team around a reliable timeline and schedule.
- Status Reporting: Represent the program by reporting status of goals and work-streams to a broad team of stakeholders.
- Dependency Mapping: Work with cross-functional teams to determine and evangelize dependencies that are critical to program deliverables.
- Risks & Mitigations: Identify risks to the program across all variables (time, requirements, resources, dependencies, etc.) and work with cross-functional stakeholders to propose go-forward options.
- Delivery Model: Own the software delivery model to ensure all requirements are documented, discoverable, and tracked for broad consumption by stakeholder teams.
- Planning: Use data to drive and participate in planning exercises, not only in-service to timeline/schedule building, but also to ensure the software delivery team commits to an aggressive but achievable scope of work from sprint-to-sprint.
- Rhythm of Business: Own and drive the updates and team alignment cadence and other recurring mechanisms to ensure team alignment.
- Growth Mindset: Live and breathe a growth mindset by learning various technical aspects of our business, including non-software and product skills (e.g., mechanical, electrical, and structural)
What You Need To Know

- Background leading program related Rhythms-of-Business, including sprint planning, monthly/quarterly reviews, and yearly strategic planning
- Strong executive presence, including ability to drive clarity and action across all levels within the company
- Robust communication skills, leading through influence across numerous stakeholders and dependent teams
- History of leading multiple successful software product launches from start to finish within matrixed organizations
- Experience and measurable evidence of solving ambiguous problems, including the introduction of new tools and processes
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field
Nice To Haves But Not Required
- MBA, Master’s in engineering, science, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or consumer products manufacturing at-scale
- Experience with integrated software and hardware product development
