Satellite Network Operations Engineer
A cross functional post sales service support, which at its core involves payload operations, Network optimization, RF and interference troubleshooting, including but not limited to:
- Point of contact for all Astranis customers concerning network operations activities
- Support/supervise carrier activation/deactivation on Astranis satellites as per defined process
- Investigate and troubleshoot satellite interference
- Network Management System configuration and operation
- Digital payload configuration
- Monitor health and status for critical mission or network systems
The role provides a balance of technical and business / customer facing responsibilities and is high visibility and high impact. Mid-level to senior management roles are available, depending on the candidate.
Requirements:
- Understanding of satellite communications and earth station components
- Experience in customer facing roles
- Ability to craft highly polished reports and presentations
- Process oriented mindset - constantly seeking more efficient ways of doing things, anticipating features needed from both internal and external tools
- Understanding of Link budgeting / Link analysis
- Enjoy a fast paced environment, with just the right amount of chaos ;)
Bonus:
- GEO High Throughput Satellite (HTS) network operations experience
- Experience in VSAT platform operations, i.e. iDirect, Gilat etc.
- Some scripting language experience, preferably Python
- IP network knowledge or direct experience
All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity, robust benefits, and bonuses. The base salary for this position ranges from $140,000 to $170,000 per year.

Base pay is a single component of Astranis' total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, performance bonuses, high quality company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on-site catered meals.
Astranis pay ranges are infomed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.
