Maxar is currently seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to join our team located San Jose supporting the Palo Alto and San Jose, CA Maxar offices. as well as other states and may, require occasional international travel. As an ideal candidate, you will have experience with production implementation for aerospace products. You will collaborate, innovate, and not be afraid of a challenge. You will be responsible for review of documentation and inspection of spacecraft, subsystems, parts, and individual component levels.
Responsibilities:
Perform quality assurance functions including audits, inspections, material review.
Participate as a member of the Maxar review team for Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) and Test Readiness Review (TRR).
Review manufacturing flow, assembly and process procedures, test procedures, drawings and associated product documentation for manufacturing and test.
Review test data as needed or as part of the inspection points.
Lead and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) activities as required. Provide coordination of MRB activities with Maxar's engineers.
Perform surveillance and audit to rapidly recognize performance problems, identify their causes and assist in their resolution. Areas of interest include quality and schedule performance.
Provide effective written and verbal communication to Maxar organizations including, Product Assurance, Program Management Office (PMO), and Product Engineer.
Provide communication to Maxar suppliers and program office as necessary.
Perform risk identification, risk management and problem management activities as appropriate and necessary.
Plan/Manage/execute small projects.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Bachelor's degree
3 years Quality or engineering-related experience. A Master's degree may count for 1 years of experience.
Ability to travel to other states and occasional international.
Current passport
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), industrial technologies, or a statistics related field. 4 years of additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Certificate in auditing
Six Sigma Greenbelt certification
Knowledge of Advanced Microsoft Office
Experience in space or aerospace hardware which may include quality engineering, material review, inspection, corrective action, and audits
Experience should encompass inspection of piece part, mechanical, electronic and communication hardware including associated software.
