What We’re Looking For:
Iridium is seeking a Senior Operations Technical Lead to join our IT Billing Operations team. As a Senior Operations Technical Lead, you’ll work closely with team members and other teams to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the company’s core operational support systems. You will provide monitoring, maintenance, support, and improvements to existing software and associated operating systems. You will succeed if you apply proven analytical, problem-solving and communication, skills to identify, communicate, and resolve issues to minimize turnaround time and maximize efficiency.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitor and analyze the operation of provisioning, mediation and billing systems to ensure effective and efficient delivery of information and completion of billing cycles
- Work independently to troubleshoot, resolve and provide root cause analysis for technical issues impacting billing systems, and related applications and processes
- Develop processes that seek to automate and guarantee billing data integrity, system availability, functionality, and audit compliance
- Maintain system configuration tables and documentation related to configuration, processes and service records
- Work with Network and Security teams to setup, test and monitor system performance, prepare and deliver system performance statistics/reports, and ensure reliable system operation
- Work with IT Operations on application tuning, support of back-end servers, managing databases, upgrading applications, resolving connectivity issues and application errors
- Use advanced knowledge to perform end-user access reviews, in-depth tests of new and/or modified systems, and update operations procedures documentation accordingly
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8+ years of operations experience in a high transaction system role
- 8+ Years of experience in Telecommunications Billing
- Solid understanding of customer service requirements, tools, and reporting
- Solid Understanding of database systems and reporting
- Strong Unix/Linux, Perl/Shell Scripting, XML, HTML, and SQL Skills
- Experience with Oracle BRM billing system, TBMS Mediation, T-Activate Provisioning
- Proficiency with Data Warehouse ETL tools, Workload Automation, Log analysis tools, Application Monitoring Tools, and SOAP and REST APIs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
- Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
- Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
- Working knowledge of Informatica, Control-M, Elk, AppDynamics
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, and Core Integrator
- Experience with management and billing of satellite services
