You would be joining the Constellation Services team. This team is responsible for building key aspects of a next gen global satellite communications network- the backbone of Astra's Space Services initiative.
How You’ll Fulfill Your Mission
The Constellation team is developing next generation technologies in networking, firmware, and infrastructure to efficiently direct data through a constellation of spacecraft and ground stations. You will develop highly reliable distributed software defined networking systems that will be deployed globally.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline, or 6+ years of equivalent work experience
5+ years delivering software in a production environment
Experience in developing distributed software systems in C/C++, Rust, Golang or Python on Linux
Experience with building large-scale, high-performance systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment
Experience in a lead role, including guiding and mentoring other developers
Experience in L2/L3 Ethernet switching, Data Plane forwarding, Routing/transport protocols or QoS/Traffic Management for large scale, high performance, high availability systems
Experience with DPDK, containers and host based forwarding planes, or experience with low-level programming for embedded systems
Experience using SDN technologies such as NetConf, OpenFlow, ONF frameworks
This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies. All jobs restricted by these regulations will be contingent upon the applicant’s status as a documented U.S. Person or their ability to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency; in addition to any required company background checks and in compliance with applicable U.S. and California laws. Similarly, positions requiring the ability to work on government contracts or a security clearance are also contingent upon the applicants ability to receive the appropriate clearance and be allowed to work on U.S. government contracts.
